MEETING PLACE - HERE AND NOW

The work’s fundamental point of departure is a meeting place – the corner as a natural gathering point, a place where two paths intersect, a space connecting the here and now. The work is conceived as a compact drawing emerging from the wall, engaging every viewpoint and perspective – from a distance as well as from immediate proximity. It is not a mural or an illustration that would merely decorate the space, but an autonomous artwork that opens several layers of meaning, themes and stories that can be interpreted in different ways. It creates a visual knot and a natural moment of slowing down, inviting closer observation. Through its meaning, it underscores the character of the place and transforms it into a natural landmark and social point of the locality.

A residence
where time has its place

The motifs of the drawing arise from reflections on the time given to us, and on the possibilities for change that exist within it. They open themes of care for the future, of responsibility for the place where we live, for more distant places that our actions can influence, and for the living world around us. Alongside these more general layers, the work also contains a number of subtle references to the history, memory and legends of the given place, connecting the present with the local story.
